Caregiver Therapy

Caregiver burnout is more than feeling tired — it’s a state of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion that can lead to irritability, guilt, numbness, and a loss of personal identity. Many caregivers feel they must “push through,” often at the expense of their own well-being.

I work with caregivers to create a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore the emotional weight of caregiving, process burnout and compassion fatigue, and reconnect with a sense of self beyond the role.
Together, we focus on practical strategies for boundary-setting, nervous system regulation, and self-care that feel realistic, not like another task on an already full plate.
New Diagnoses
Receiving a new diagnosis, whether for yourself or a loved one, can be deeply unsettling. It often brings fear, uncertainty, grief, and anxiety about what the future may hold, along with a sense that life has suddenly shifted.

I support individuals as they process the emotional impact of new diagnoses, helping them make sense of what they’re experiencing while navigating the mental and emotional challenges that can arise alongside physical or psychological conditions. Therapy can offer a steady space to adjust, cope, and regain a sense of grounding during a time of change.

Grief & Loss

Grief is a natural response to loss, and it doesn’t follow a predictable timeline or pattern. While it’s often associated with the death of a loved one, grief can also arise from changes in health, relationships, identity, or life circumstances.

I support individuals navigating the complexities of grief by providing space to process difficult emotions such as sadness, anger, guilt, confusion, and disbelief. Together, we focus on caring for yourself through the grieving process, finding ways to honour what has been lost, and gently exploring meaning and integration over time.
Life Transitions
Life transitions, whether chosen or unexpected, can bring a mix of emotions, including excitement, fear, grief, and uncertainty. Changes such as becoming a parent, changing careers, ending relationships, relocating, or entering a new phase of life can challenge our sense of stability and identity.

I help individuals navigate these transitions by exploring emotional responses to change, reframing internal narratives, clarifying values, and setting realistic goals. Therapy offers a supportive space to reflect on fears, hopes, and aspirations while building confidence in the next chapter.
